Tips on Credit Card Safety

It is difficult to make sure no one gets hold of your credit card details, if your credit card has been stolen or misused then it can be an unnecessary hassle.

The information below can help you avoid credit card fraud:

  •  When using your credit card in a restaurant or a shop, make sure you have your  credit card in sight at all times.
  •  Always destroy appropriately any credit card transaction slips which bear the  credit  card number.
  •  Do not write your card pin number down, try and remember it if possible.
  •  When making a purchase make sure you confirm with the retailer the amount  being  taken from the credit card.
  •  When you receive your credit card statement it is always a good idea to see if  purchases made that month match the statement. Sometimes when the transaction  is not electronic, mistakes can be made quite easily, the retailer could have easily  typed in the wrong data.
  •  If you want to make purchases over the Internet, try using a credit card which  covers you from fraudulent use online.
  •  Never buy anything from a website that does not have a secure online payment  method.
  •  Never give out your credt card details to people over the phone even if it is a well  known organisation
