Credit Card Spending for shopaholics
27/02/2007
According to new research there are
around 750,000 people in the UK who are in the so called shopaholic
category. These seriously addicted shoppers regularly spend £200.00
per month on their fashion items in comparison to the £90.00
national average.
The data from the YouGov study suggests
that there are many people who could be spending above their means,
around 16 per cent of people in the study admitted that had lied
about their spending habits, with many in serious debts
of 11,000.
The study has highlighted birmingham
as one of the cities where spending seems to be at its highest,
in fact women in Birmingham spend £1,816 every year on their
fashion buying habits, whereas the UK average is £1,042.
The study summaries that the typical
British shopaholic would be a city living female below the age
of 25 who is in an annual salary less than £18,959. In addition,
14 per cent of this salary is allocated to her fashion
buying sprees.
