Credit Card users give to Charity
26/01/2007
It has recently been revealed that
the HBOS (Halifax and Bank of Scotland) charity card users have
donated a huge £1.5 million to a number of charities last
year. The three main charities that have benefited from the donations
are Cancer Research UK, the National Society for the Prevention
of Cruelty to Children and the Scottish Society for the Prevention
of Cruelty to Animals.
The donation process is pretty straight
forward and is designed to donate funds to charity when the credit
card user first uses their card. The credit card user will donate
£20.00 on this first spend and subsequently donate 0.25p
for every £100.00 spent afterwards.
There are many credit card available
on the market and especially those that are designed for those
who are keen to make a charitable donation whilst spending on
their card.
“Charity cards are an excellent
way of helping worthy causes and customers benefit from great
deals in the process” said Ken Stannard, head of cards at
HBOS.
