New figures released by one expert show just how many people have problems with their credit card and how this will become a major problem through Christmas.

Director of Thomas Charles and Co, James Falla, stated that there are in true facts more people searching for help with their finances compared to this time last year.

A vast majority of cardholders do not really know the rates they are paying on each credit card, as many people just take on the credit cards they are offered first, he explained.

He added, "Very few people, in my experience, would consider the actual rate of interest on the card, which obviously is not a very good thing."

Mr Falla also recommended that many consumers are taking out credit cards to "enhance their profits" without considering how money shall be repaid.

Analysing Credit Actions figures, the UK's whole personal debt remains at £1,391 billion.

The firm filed that personal debt increased by nearly £122 billion and its only been an additional 12 months since this new data was released.
