Credit card transactions can be made from blackberry device

New innovative technology means that some blackberry owners will be able to make credit card transactions from their blackberry device. Irish technology firm Commercial Wireless and Tracktech its UK partner developed this new technology and claims it is the worlds first.

This new innovative idea has been put through a very stringent programme which is usually reserved for standard credit card data processing machines known as the Mastercard Point of Sale Terminal Security (PTS). This is very exciting as it is the first for this type of device.

According to Michael Moriarty, Commercial Wireless managing director, this new innovation will be available in the Irish market in six months time.

“We believe that eMerit will be of significant value to businesses in Ireland and the UK. It can be made available to single users or large corporate enterprises. Also, a unique application can be added to allow calculation of payments against specific products or services”.
