Credit cards bring down fuel prices
13/07/2007
If you are a UK holidaymaker who is
looking to use a vehicle to complete a European journey, you
may realise that fuel can work out cheaper using a credit
card,
more news revealed.
Post office stated that credit
cards which has a zero per cent
commission, offered by the organisation will lead to savings
for UK cardholders.
The Post Office found out that depending on where a holidaymaker
is travelling, the more you can save when using the right credit
card.
Switzerland is known for the cheapest place to purchase fuel,
if payments for fuel are made via a credit
card or cash, this
would not affect the petrol costs, as petrol in this zone is
cheap.
Post Office head of travel services, Kevin McAdam, commented: "We
advise UK holidaymakers to plan their motoring itineraries carefully
in advance.
"If you are travelling down through Germany and crossing into
Austria, it makes sense to fill up in Austria, where unleaded
petrol costs around 19 per cent less."
It is also important for credit
card holders to know what rates
they will be charged if they choose to use their credit
card abroad. With the dynamic currency conversion, you could
be at the end initially be paying higher rates.
