Good News for Credit Card Owners
01/03/2007
According to recent industry news travel
insurance provided on credit cards is looking better for credit
card holders. In January 2005 a number of credit card providers
decided to stop offering free travel insurance, however the situations
seems to be looking positive now as many are beginning to include
this perk again.
Research from MoneyExpert.com shows
that there are currently around 56 credit
cards that do not offer free travel insurance
The analysis carried out by MoneyExpert.com
has identified that the average cover for travel accidents
has increased £23,000 in the last ten months.
Sean Gardner, Chief Executive for MoneyExpert
commented "Travel insurance is one of those bonuses for credit
card holders – but only if you know you’ve got it,"
Evidence has highlighted that many
credit
card holders may not be aware that the plastic in the pocket
covers them for insurance on holiday.
"Many of us will buy travel
insurance before a holiday without thinking to check the features
of our credit card. It always makes sense to buy specialist travel
insurance but you should check what your card offers." Mr
Gardner added.
