New virtual Identity for Barclaycard

Over the next year, Barclaycard will be introducing a new logo which is part of Barclaycards plan to reveal a new image and virtual identity. This will be rolled out across the whole range of Barclaycard’s products and services. The new logo is a change from the usual logo which has been used over the last forty years, and has mainly been seen on the traditional credit card.
“Barclaycard is leading a revolution which will bring people and businesses together to allow payments to be made in the easiest and most convenient way possible. Our new identity expresses where we see the future, freeing the chip on the credit card from the constraints of the plastic around it, making the way people pay for things simpler,” said Barclaycard’s CEO, Antony Jenkins.
“Our current logo and look have worked well for us as a UK credit card company, but they do not reflect the global payments company we have become. We needed to create a modern and distinctive look which signals where we are going as opposed to where we have been,” said Barclaycard’s head of brand management, Rhidian Taylor.
