UK Credit Card

Rejected credit card affects credit rating

03/07/2008

A recent survey carried out claims that being rejected a credit card would in fact affect one’s credit rating.

A large number of credit card applications everyday are rejected in the UK and with so many credit card deals available, it can sometimes become difficult to obtain a deal.

The head of personal finance at Fool.co.uk suggested that credit cards rejections could show up on future credit references, this causing it difficult to be accepted for mortgages and personal loans.

Kuo spoke further in matters of this investigation: "When you are turned down for a credit card application it counts against you on your credit reference. If people are going to be applying for a credit card then they need to make sure that they are almost certainly going to get it before they apply for it.

"What people need to do is to have a look at their own credit record and look at it from the eyes of a banker or whoever is providing the credit card."
